PC Virus Removal

Back from an elderly gentleman's house who had a problem where by when he tried to access the internet internet explorer would give the message "internet explorer cannot display the webpage".

After double checking his network settings and pinging www.google.com from command prompt which worked I knew straight away this was a process running in the background preventing the webpage from loading. A reboot to safemode, virus scan of the pc, removing all injected files and then double checking the registry to make sure nothing suspect would load the internet was fully functional and back up and running!
This is a classic case of a computer or laptop repair involving other contributions to the problem. In this case it was internet related and this is fairly common with PCs.
