Blue Screen of Death! Virus Removal

So the weekend has arrived and weather has taken a turn for the better! Unfortunately the type of viruses we deal with occur regardless of time of year and today is no different. I received a text from a customer who had encountered a blue screen if she ran her virus scanner picture below.

When infected and attempting to detect and remove viruses using scanners the virus itself is coded in such a way it realises what you are trying to do. The virus/warm/trojan will then cause an error on your hard drive in order to avoid being detected which in turn gives us the blue screen we all hate to see!

Luckily removal was very straight forward, booted in safe mode (hit F8 when you turn your computer/laptop on). Run the virus checker in safe mode allowing the virus to be detected and not load as it would had it been running in normal mode. Quarantine and delete infected files and reboot without going into safe mode and all should be well!
